The standard behind the badge
What “Verified” means
Every member you see on LORQA was approved by a person, not an algorithm. Before the LORQA Verified badge appears on a profile or a listing, the member has passed all of the checks below — and payment is only ever requested after approval.
We use technology to gather the evidence, but the decision is always human.
Identity
We confirm the applicant is a real, identifiable person — name, location and professional presence have to match across their application, website and public profiles.
Licence or registry
Where the applicant’s country regulates estate agency (AICAT in Catalonia, AMI in Portugal, state licensing in the US, and so on), we check the stated licence or registry number against the issuing body. Where no public register exists, we ask for proof of agency or professional-body membership instead.
Active practice
We look for evidence of genuine, current practice: a working website or agency page, live listings on recognised portals, and a coherent professional history.
References
Applicants name two professional references. We contact them when anything needs corroborating.
Code of conduct
Every member accepts the LORQA code of conduct before their profile goes live — and the badge is revocable: it disappears automatically if a membership lapses or is suspended.
